other writing
My writing life started before my career as a copywriter. I’ve now been working as a published writer for over 15 years.
I worked for my college’s student publications as a reporter, TV columnist, staff writer, writing editor, and copy editor, and I was lucky to spend four summers in a row covering literary arts for The Chautauquan Daily while in undergrad and grad school. From there, I went on to do further literary event coverage for Houstonia Magazine. In total, I’ve interviewed 140+ authors, which would be mind-blowing information for 9-year-old me rereading Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events for the umpteenth time.
This journalistic and creative work exists outside of my copywriting portfolio, but it’s been foundational to my identity as a versatile and multifaceted writer. I’ve curated some of my favorite pieces here.
